By : J. GeneralaoAugust 26, 2024
On October 25, we, Team Helios, in collaboration with solar energy expert Sir JF Legaspi, brought an immersive training experience to the beautiful city of Baguio. Our "Fundamentals with Hands-On Training for Solar PV Systems" seminar aimed to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications, enabling participants to gain firsthand experience with solar energy systems. Hosted with the support of the Agricultural Training Institute, this seminar was a rewarding opportunity for individuals and professionals alike who want to expand their skills in the fast-growing field of solar technology.
“For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them.” – Aristotle
Baguio, known for its cool climate and stunning landscapes, provided the perfect setting for our seminar. As solar energy becomes increasingly vital in tackling energy challenges, holding this training in Baguio allowed us to introduce participants to sustainable energy solutions in a region that values green initiatives. The seminar not only covered the basics of solar PV systems but also gave participants an opportunity to experience installation in a live, hands-on environment.
The seminar began with an in-depth overview of solar PV systems, covering everything from solar panel selection and configuration to battery management. Sir JF Legaspi, a respected figure in the solar industry, shared his extensive expertise, guiding attendees through the technicalities of both 12V off-grid and 48V hybrid on/off-grid systems. This dual approach equipped participants to understand different types of installations, making the training applicable to a wide range of real-world scenarios.
What made this seminar unique was the hands-on training component, which allowed participants to apply the theoretical knowledge they acquired in real-time. With guided assistance from Team Helios and Sir JF, each attendee was able to interact directly with the equipment, learning to troubleshoot and handle challenges as they would in actual installations. This practical experience is crucial in building confidence, ensuring that participants left the seminar with both knowledge and skills they can put to immediate use.
Our attendees came from diverse backgrounds, including engineers, students, and renewable energy advocates, creating a vibrant learning atmosphere. The interactive discussions and shared learning experiences fostered a sense of camaraderie among the participants, sparking an eagerness for further training. Many of them expressed interest in a follow-up seminar, which we’re thrilled to consider as part of our commitment to sustainable energy education.
Our time in Baguio highlighted the growing interest and dedication to renewable energy among local communities. As the world pivots towards sustainable solutions, it's seminars like these that lay the groundwork for a greener future. The success of this training has inspired us to continue providing accessible and high-quality solar training, empowering individuals and organizations to harness the power of the sun.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us, to Sir JF Legaspi for his invaluable guidance, and to the Agricultural Training Institute for their support. We're excited to see how our participants will use their new skills to impact their communities positively. Stay tuned for more updates on our upcoming seminars and training sessions, as we continue to spread the knowledge and practice of solar technology across the Philippines!
